About Me

I started this blog because I hope to fill a niche within the blogging community. There are a lot of excellent blogs out there covering various facets of the dialogue between conservative Christianity and liberal Christians. But there aren’t many blogs that adhere to and critique both sides with equal passion. And I hope to temper the theological and political themes here with a healthy dose of lighthearted pop culture musings.

What sparked my decision to start this blog was the response I had received for a series of comments I had made on other sites. On one site I was called a fundamentalist, and a few days later I found myself being called an atheist . Given the hodgepodge of strong reactions I have received from both sides of theological and political aisle,  I figured it was time to put down all of my thoughts in one big,  messy place.

I decided to call the site “Christian Vagabond” because I find each side of the debate over Christianity too problematic to identify with them. I don’t claim to have definitive answers to the topics I’ll cover here, and I won’t pretend that my arguments are airtight or even consistent.

Professionally I’m at a bit of a crossroads between being a writer, artist, and a teacher. As you read this blog, you’ll probably find a lot you disagree with and hopefully some things that you can agree with. Thanks for reading, and if you want to get in touch with me, feel free to do so.

  1. Vagabond…

too much to say regarding the conversation on TGC about porn. while porn and cocaine may not produce identical image in brain scans, they both function ON the brain in the same way. there are what is called substance addictions, and there are process addictions – all of them utilize the same chemistry and and processes in the human brain. below are several links if you care to actually check any of this out. (i’ve even included some articles that supposedly do not support the porn addiction point of view).

  2. When I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I get
4 emails with the exact same comment. Is
there an easy method you can remove me from that service?

    Appreciate it!
